It's worse this time, I have unraveled city corruption, and city official negligence. We got over 200+ documentation on it. It lit a fire in me, I will not rest until this loophole is closed.

why is it so hard for people to just be decent. I mean…you're paying them rent, the roof is leaking, the fittings are corroded to fuck, the place breaches code… what is wrong with people.

strength to your arm!

They didn't renew because we reported them to the city for ignoring maintenance requests. They said the building was fine. But structural went after them so there are indeed structural violations. Our upstairs unit (neighbors) is literally FERMENTING and rotting on the floor and it drips into our unit.

The truth is there are zero regulations to hold people accountable when that happens you have landlords who take advantage of the system and harm their tenants. The loophole I listed means their retailation law which states: Missouri law prohibits landlord retaliation for reporting housing code violations i.e. safety code violations through code enforcement by the STL building division, protecting tenants through general anti-retaliation principles in landlord-tenant relations, reinforced by the Missouri Human Rights Act (Chapter 213) for housing discrimination/retaliation, and common law (warranty of habitability), meaning landlords can't punish you with eviction, rent hikes, or utility shutoffs for reporting unsafe conditions.

What this does not mean is if you're not in eviction court, landlords can utilize the loophole by refusing to renew the lease for any reason even in protected actions. It's a HUGE oversight for our federal agency HUD and the Fair Housing Act, because it allows landlords to not evict/not be held accountable/ and force their tenants on the streets for asking for safety within their rental property.

I have an almost 2 page list of LLC corporations that take advantage of tenants in STL and it's GROWING.

Now let's move to the city corruption, I have on record city officials colluding and working with landlords to force tenants on the streets and refusing to do impartial inspections as per their job.

This is a systemic issue.

And when it's go time for me to do more research they better pray. I will uncover every corrupt official. I will not let this slide.

fucking vulturous bastards. I hope you find a way to fuck them up. i sae the charts...its a similar picture everywhere here too...loads of shit and empty property and loads of homeless people or people struggling to afford rents that are sky high. even my company which is a charity is not perfect at sorting out defects by any means and rents are huge. no idea how people afford to live.

I will find a way, I play the long game. It's pretty fucked. I will do everything in my power to fight it. I may not be rich, but I've seen people with less do more. Anything is possible. Keep doing the good work Nick. Everything matters no matter how small it feels.

This time is worse because of city official corruption & I found a legal loophole that is used against tenants. It's horrible. We will survive, but it's going to be a rough grind to get us to where we need to be in 3 months. We definitely have to go to the press and make it loud and clear. It's going to be a thing.

It sadly is, all we can do is fight. And I hope they're ready because I won't give up. 🐦‍🔥
